Hello and welcome to my blog hop post!
I first want to introduce you to Joey Paul…she is the author who invited me to participate in this event.
Here is some information about Joey:
Joey is 32, disabled, an indie author and part time student in her last year towards an honours degree in Health and Social Care. She loves to write and is at the moment working on her eleventh and twelfth books, as well as preparing her seventh book for publication. She started writing when she was medically retired from her job at the age of 19. Her first book was released in 2005 and after a brief time away, her second one was released in 2011. In addition to writing books, she also enjoys reading them and can often be found resting in bed with a good book, a cat and an ukulele.
Now for a little bit about me! 🙂
1 – What are you working on?
I’m currently working on the second book in my Reilly and Fisk Series. The book is called The Rose File and features Boston Homicide Detectives Jess Reilly and Greg Fisk. Together, along with Officer Freedman and Detective Perkins, they have to hunt down a twisted serial killer who is terrorizing the city.
2 – How does your work differ from others in its genre?
That’s a difficult question to answer because I try not to compare myself to other authors. I just write from my heart and mind and try to create characters that are believable to the reader. I don’t think that, but itself, necessarily sets me apart from other authors but I would like to think that my stories and the spin I put on the “cop drama” genre makes my books stand out from others that are out there.
3 – Why do I write what I do?
I’m an engineer by training and a puzzle solver at heart so I feel like mysteries are a fun way to utilize those skills. I also find human nature and the human psyche both fascinating and terrifying. The stories I write explore the deeper and darker aspects of humanity.
4 – How does your writing process work?
The funny thing about the way I write is that I don’t really think in a linear fashion. You would think that to write a mystery, you would need to start at the beginning and just move through until the end. However, I tend to jump around writing scenes out of sequence and then going back through to weave them together like a quilt.
To finish up this post, I would like to pass the baton to two very talented authors…
Becki Brannen was born and raised in the South. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two daughters and a poodle, Sophie. Becki is the author of four ‘chick lit’ with a Christian lit books, including the Breathlessseries and the spinoff novella, Peregrine. She is currently working on Stronger, the story of Hayley Cross, a woman overcoming abuse by deciding she’s not going down without a fight.
A lifelong California girl, Michelle Rabe tried the Hollywood thing but decided she preferred an author’s den to the actor’s trailer. She now lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her unhelpful author cat. If you can’t find her in a cemetery with her camera you can find her online at: www.michellerabe.com. Her debut novel ‘Cast in Blood’ is available on Amazon and Createspace.
